MGT 430 SEMINAR IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The case method has been successfully employed in business curricula as an effective active learning approach to business analysis and managerial decision making. In this integrative project management seminar course, students will participate in project management case analysis and decision making by engaging in three types of activities - individual analysis and preparation, group discussion, and CAPM exam preparation. Students will analyze project management case studies in order to offer solutions to case problems or issues that affect the scope, cost and/or schedule of the projects or the strategic goals of the company. The focus of this course will be on the development of a robust process for analyzing projects and understanding managerial decision making in project organizations. Our primary goal will be to come together as a class to discuss and debate the issues, analyses, plans and decisions resulting from a deep and informed assessment of the cases presented.
