Module/Overall Grade Point Average (GPA)
1. Students must attain a modular GPA of 3.0 and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0. The module GPA and overall GPA will be calculated at the end of each module.
2. A student whose modular or overall GPA falls below 3.0 must meet with the DPTE Chair.
3. If the modular (didactic or clinical) GPA falls below 3.0, the student will be immediately placed on academic warning, or probation if the overall GPA is below a 3.0. The DPTE Chair will determine length of academic warning or probation. At a minimum, the student will remain on academic warning until completion of the next like module, didactic or clinical. If the module GPA falls below 3.0 in a didactic module, a student will remain on warning/probation until successful completion of the next didactic module. If the module GPA falls below 3.0 for a clinical module, the student will remain on warning/probation until successful remediation and successful retake of the clinical education experience. The successful remediation and retake shall take place before continuation in the next clinical education module.
4. A student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to proceed to a clinical module.
5. A student must have an overall GPA of ≥ 3.0 and no unresolved unsatisfactory grades for any courses in order to graduate.
