Sexual Misconduct and Interpersonal Violence
Elon University has an obligation to ensure learning and working environments that are free from discrimination or harassment. Under the authority of the university Title IX Coordinator, the University has procedures in place to receive, investigate, respond to and resolve complaints of discrimination, including harassment based on sex. Violations of the Sexual Misconduct and Interpersonal Violence Policy are violations of the Code of Conduct.

Reporting & Resources (including Confidential Support Options)
A member of the University community who wishes to make an official report of sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence committed by a student may report the incident to the University through the following channels:

- Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics: Ms. Faith Shearer, Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator, (336) 278-6790; fshearer@elon.edu
- Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the Law School: Ms. Melissa Duncan, Assistant Dean for Career and Student Development, (336) 278-9256; mduncan6@elon.edu

- Any of the following responsible employees, who will promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator:
- Deans
- Department chairs
- Senior administrators
- Supervisors
- Human Resources staff
- Campus Safety and Police
- Residence Life staff (including student staff (Resident Assistants and Apartment Managers), and Faculty-in-Residence
- Student Conduct administrators
- Faculty and other employees supervising overnight domestic or international student travel
- In the event that an incident involves alleged misconduct by the Title IX Coordinator, or other Title IX staff, reports should be made directly to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, (336) 278-5562.
