EDU 3330 SUPPORTING EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

This course is designed to help teachers and others who work on behalf of young children: (1) understand the importance of emotional and social well-being, and (2) support healthy emotional and social development for children from birth through kindergarten. Topics include attachment, body control and a positive self-image, play and imagination, guidance/discipline, empathy, emotion-regulation, and social competence. Emphasis is placed on preventing emotional and behavioral disorders through the development of early emotional and social skills.
