MUS 3350 INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC COMPOSITION

This course builds on the fundamentals of music theory, with a focus on the foundational concepts, techniques, and skills required to combine the various elements of music to compose original art music under the guiding principles of wholeness, self-regulation, and transformation. The course is writing intensive with a series of weekly composition projects that foster practice and development of the techniques and skills at the heart of music composition. Instruction and feedback are given in alternating group classes and individual lessons.
