Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Four-year Undergraduate Program

The Elon University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program is a four-year, 142 credit hour curriculum that will qualify students to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become a licensed, registered nurse. The four-year curriculum satisfies all core requirements, includes opportunities for experiential and global learning, and is built to allow pursuit of a biology minor in addition to all nursing pre-requisites. Prerequisite requirements include 24 hours of coursework, including human anatomy and physiology (8 credits), microbiology (4 credits), basic statistics (4 credits), lifespan development (4 credits), and nutrition (4 credits).

During their second year at Elon, students will complete a secondary process for admission into the BSN. Admissions requirements are based on a comprehensive analysis of the BSN programs offered throughout North Carolina at both public and private institutions. Students who successfully complete the secondary admissions process will matriculate into nursing coursework in the Francis Center at the beginning of their third year, completing all degree requirements and their Core Capstone within 4 years.
