Promotion
Promotion is defined as progression from the Didactic phase of the program to the Clinical education phase or from the Clinical education phase to graduation. The DPAS APPC will recommend a student for promotion when they are in good academic and professional standing, meet the Technical Standards of the Program, and are meeting all professionalism expectations.
A student cannot be recommended for promotion with any outstanding (un-remediated) grades of Unsatisfactory (“U”) on their academic record or with a cumulative grade point average of less than 3.00.
In addition, a student will be promoted only if all legal and financial requirements of the University have been satisfied. Completion of all requirements for successful promotion will be documented by DPAS APPC and recorded in the student file.
Students who are not promoted from the Didactic year to the Clinical phase are subject to dismissal from the Program, and their case will be reviewed by the APPC.
