Healthcare Analytics
This four-course, 12-credit graduate certificate is designed to be one of the most innovative and practical programs at Elon University with the goal of transforming how healthcare professionals are able to assess and improve healthcare through cutting-edge information and analytics technologies. The program provides a solid foundation in the application of major information systems methodologies and approaches, with a special focus on advanced data analytics techniques for the delivery and administration of modern healthcare systems. This is achieved by assisting students in acquiring integral healthcare knowledge and terminology, building a concrete understanding of health information technologies, and developing technical skillsets in data analytics to solve various practical healthcare problems. Our deliberately designed curriculum, inspired by real-world healthcare practice and up-to-date technology development, will be taught by the highly qualified Elon faculty, as well as healthcare analytics professionals and domain experts.
The program can be completed in three semesters or one full academic year, and courses are offered in the evening and online synchronously so that remote working professionals can still get an immersive, high-quality learning experience. This career-focused graduate certificate is ideal for data analytics professionals who want to enter the healthcare industry and healthcare professionals who desire to improve their analytic skills, which can be applied immediately in their workplace to influence decisions in their organizations and advance their careers. We also welcome students who desire to start their careers in the healthcare analytics industry to join the program directly after completing their undergraduate degrees to hone their skills. Students have the option to roll all the earned credits directly into the M.S. in Business Analytics (MSBA) or up to nine credits into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) if they choose to pursue a formal master's degree at Elon University later.
