ENS 2500 Introduction to GIS: Vector

Students will learn concepts in coordinate systems and projects, GPS, geocoding, vector spatial analysis, and basic cartography. Through hands-on lab exercises and research projects, students will gain broad experience with analysis and mapping using the latest ArcGIS software. Examples from environmental management, public administration, business and other disciplines are covered. Students can take Intro GIS (Vector) and Intro GIS (Raster) in either order. No prerequisites or previous GIS experience expected.
