COR 457 FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD: EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CHARITY
This capstone course investigates both U.S. and global perspectives on charity. If the benefit of going to college comes with a responsibility to be a good global citizen, how does that responsibility look in practice? How does a global citizen identify the best investments of time and money and help guide societies to good choices when it comes to creating a socially just world? Through a combination of readings, discussions and hands-on work with both the creators and recipients of charity, we will answer these questions and help each student to become that responsible global citizen. This course is writing intensive. Open to students in the third or fourth year of study.
