COR 406 WOMEN'S HEALTH ISSUES

This course will identify a broad range of health issues that are either unique to women or of special importance to women. The roles that women play as both providers and consumers of health care will be examined. The student will be provided the opportunity to explore health care issues of women from adolescence through old age. The interface of gender, socio-economic advantage/ disadvantage, and minority status will be studied. A primary objective of this course is to enable the student to become an informed consumer of health care services. This course is writing intensive. Open to students in the third or fourth year of study. Counts toward Public Health Studies and toward the Women's/Gender Studies minor.
