FRE 361 PERSPECTIVES ON FRENCH CIVILIZATION
This course is designed to help students gain transhistorical perspectives on the diversity of French culture and civilization. Students examine key moments, stories, groups, and individuals to inform their understanding of France's complex history. Topics include colonization, immigration, and the subsequent birth of la francophonie; France's struggle with defining its national identity; and France's role in significant world events.
