EDU 430 METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR TEACHING SCIENCE

This course examines science, technology and engineering teaching practices and student learning in K-6 classrooms. Students investigate, evaluate and select content, methods and materials used to teach crosscutting concepts, science and engineering practices, and disciplinary core ideas. Critical thinking, curricular integration, differentiation, and incorporation of technology  is emphasized in the design and implementation of lessons consistent with state and national standards, reflecting best practices in research and literature for this field.  Practicum placement in K-6 school required.  A concurrent internship offers opportunities to apply concepts and skills.
