EDU 435 Data Collection, Interpretation, and Implementation in Special Education

This course provides teacher candidates with the knowledge required to collect, interpret, implement, and communicate data in special education. Candidates will explore the role of data in progress monitoring and the IEP process for students with disabilities. This course will provide students with an overview of the types of assessments used to create student academic and behavior goals as well as inform classroom instructional decisions. Candidates will examine high leverage practices related to the collection, interpretation, implementation, and communication of data in special education. Consideration is given to legal policies and ethical principles in regard to the administration and interpretation of data collection and implementation procedures.
