Attendance
Students are expected to attend all classes and scheduled department activities. All anticipated absences must be reported in writing to the professor. All unanticipated absences due to illness, accident, or other unexpected events must be immediately reported to the DPTE program assistant and to the professor of the course. Failure to do so may be considered a professional behavior concern. Due to the intense nature of the curriculum, students are strongly encouraged to schedule medical and other personal appointments during non-class hours to avoid class conflicts. Specific consequences of missing class are left to the discretion of the course instructor.
During clinical practicums, students are responsible for notifying their supervising Clinical Instructor (CI), Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE), and the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) regarding all absences, whether anticipated or unanticipated. Please refer to the attendance policies listed in the Clinical Education Handbook and in the syllabi for Clinical Practicums I, II, III, and IV.
