Behavior Expectations and Social Policy
Per the Elon student handbook, https://elon.smartcatalogiq.com/en/2023-2024/Student-Handbook, the Elon student is expected at all times to exhibit honesty and ethical behavior when interacting with fellow students, faculty, and staff. Invasion of privacy, disrespect for personal and University property, theft, vandalism, acts of violence, and sexual harassment are examples of unacceptable behavior. All individuals will engage in behavior becoming of a physical therapist at all times, including online. Although social networks are a valuable means of interconnection be advised that anything posted on social media sites is accessible. Inappropriate use of social networking sites may result in disciplinary action. In addition, any video/photography produced in the Francis Center or on the Elon University Campus must be reviewed and approved by the Chair of the DPTE prior to publication in ANY format (e.g., FB, YouTube).
A further matter of concern is the abuse of alcohol and or illegal substances by members of the student body. Any student whose abuses alcohol or illegal substances or facilitates such abuse is subject to discipline pursuant to the procedures set forth in this Handbook and/or the Elon Code of Student Conduct, up to and including suspension or dismissal.
