Economic Consulting B.S.B.A.
The BSBA in Economic Consulting will provide students with training in the application of microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics to problems of business decision making. To be successful, business economists have to know how to apply the tools of microeconomic analysis (e.g., critical thinking, modelling, econometric analysis, etc.) to real-world, business problems.
The major will require students to take 5 economics courses beyond what is required in the BSBA core. These 5 courses will concentrate on the application of microeconomic theory and models to business problems. This will include a mix of required courses (4) that build specific skills and electives (1) that allow the student to explore different areas of economics (e.g., health economics, labor economics, etc.) where consultants typically operate/specialize. The major will include a required seminar in which students are assigned a real consulting case to be completed within the semester.
