Curriculum Delivery Model

The DPAS curriculum is a 24-month program that engages students through an innovative, systems-based educational pathway, employing large and small group discussion, hands-on clinical skills labs, simulated patient experiences, lecture, and clinical case scenarios. Over the course of the Didactic year, the simulated patient experiences will increase in complexity. as students prepare for patient care experience in the Clinical year.  Students will also take a Clinical Phase Preparation course in the Fall of the Didactic year to help prepare them for their transition to supervised clinical education experiences. Concurrent with their clinical rotations, students will take Clinical Year Seminar courses including a Master’s Project capstone research course in order to strengthen their fund of knowledge through self-directed learning. The Program curriculum is designed to develop the skills addressed in the Program-Defined Competencies
