ExamSoft
Programs in the School of Health Sciences are using ExamSoft for computer-based testing. Faculty will use Moodle as the main course management system (e.g., posting grades and documents) but all computer-based testing will be done using the ExamSoft platform in the regular classrooms. Faculty may choose the format of their exams; however, most exams are computer-based. All students need to have access to a laptop (or other compatible technology) to take these exams. The DPTE has devices available if a student's computer malfunctions on the day of an exam.
You will be oriented to using ExamSoft when you arrive on campus, but we ask that you check your system requirements and attempt to download Examplify prior to coming to campus. Requirements are as follows:
1.Check system requirements: Check your laptop to make sure it meets the basic Examplify system requirements using this link. If you do not have a laptop or your laptop is not compatible, please email Ms. Reid (kreid6@elon.edu) so we have a sense of the number of incoming students who will need a compatible device for test taking.
Examplify: Minimum System Requirements
IMPORTANT NOTE: Only compatible Windows, Mac OS, and iPad systems are supported. The version of Examplify available in the SHS does not work on Chrome, Android, or Linux operating system devices. SHS Examsoft assessments do not use ExamID or ExamMonitor.
2.ExamSoft account: Once your Examplify/Examsoft account is set up, you will use your Elon credentials to access Examplify.
3.Download Examplify: After you sign into your account, you will be prompted to download Examplify, which is the test-taking system. Download and install the program on your laptop. If you do not have a compatible device, you can still create your account even though you are unable to download it at this time. Also, don’t worry if you are unable to download the program; we will help you when you arrive.
4.Mock Exam: During the first few weeks of class, we will schedule a mock exam so you can familiarize yourself with the interface.
**See Written Examination Policy section below for details related to downloading exams and exam day expectations.
