Required Academic Standards to Maintain Enrollment and Progress in the Curriculum: Progression and Promotion A3.14a
• All graded assessments are reviewed by students and faculty to identify strengths and weaknesses.
• Any score below 70% requires a meeting with the course director for remediation.
•Two or more assessments scores below 70 % within a course place the student at risk for academic concern or warning status.
Progression Monitoring at Checkpoints A3.14a
Formal checkpoints occur at the following times:
End of Spring (Didactic)
End of Summer II (Didactic)
End of Fall II (Didactic)
After 3rd Clinical Rotation (Clinical)
End of Program (Graduation)
At each checkpoint, the Academic & Professional Advancement Committee (APAC) reviews every student’s academic performance, professionalism, and readiness to advance.
Possible PC Recommendations:
Academic Concern (support only)
Academic/Professional Warning
Academic/Professional Probation*
Return to Good Standing
Suspension
Leave of Absence (temporary)
Program Dismissal**
*Probation status is reportable to licensing boards and future employers.
**Dismissal follows the CLT-PA Dismissal Procedure.
Promotion A3.14a
Promotion is defined as advancement from:
Didactic → Clinical Phase
Clinical Phase → Graduation
To be eligible for promotion, students must meet all the following criteria:
- Be good academic and professional standing
- Meet all Technical Standards and professionalism expectations
- Not have any outstanding “Unsatisfactory (U)” grades
- Have a cumulative GPA ≥ 3.00
- Satisfy all legal and financial obligations to the University
Failure to meet these requirements results in PC review and may lead to dismissal.
