Exemption from Individual Course

Students with advanced work or degrees in a particular subject may formally petition the professor and the DPTE Chair for credit for an individual course. The petition must include the reasons for the request and all necessary documentation and must be submitted by the end of the first week of the course. The student must comply with the attendance policy until notification that exemption has been granted by the DPTE Chair. The professor, before recommending exemption, may require acceptable performance on an examination. The professor, in consultation with the DPTE Chair, may suggest other alternative or additional criteria for determining exemption.
