Withdrawal
It is a student’s prerogative to withdraw from the program up until a decision of “dismissal” is provided. To withdraw, the student must notify the program director in writing (email or paper) noting their desire to withdraw. The date and time the message is timestamped is the official time of withdrawal. The program director will notify the Dean of Students, the Dean of SHS, the program faculty/staff, and the Registrar of the withdrawal.
A student considering a withdrawal may discuss this option at any time with the program director or their advisor. Their decision to withdraw is not final until they have sent notification to the program director in writing (email) that they intend to withdraw. Other people students may wish to consult before making this type of decision include Dr. Laké Buggs (Director of Inclusive Excellence for Graduate and Professional Students) and the Dean of Student’s office (Whitney Gregory).
It is the student’s responsibility to explore the financial implications of withdrawal and to follow up on the withdrawal process with the registrar and financial aid.
