GBL 251 WORLD WAR II IN EUROPE: DAILY LIFE IN A TIME OF WAR
This interdisciplinary course is designed to enable students to come to a better understanding of the era of WWII by looking at the experiences of ordinary people, both soldiers and civilians. Course content will focus on the invasion of Normandy in France, Germany under Hitler, and the occupied Czech Republic. Of particular interest is the effect of the war on ordinary people, how it shaped people's lives in a variety of places in Europe, and how individuals responded to it. Readings and the places to be visited will inform this focus and student learning in this course.
