POL 3100 Gender and Politics

This course explores the role of gender in contemporary politics, with a special focus on the case of the United States and how it compares to other countries. Students will learn about different conceptions of feminism, the history of organizing for gender equality in the U.S., the challenges and implications of increasing women’s political representation, and they will survey major political and policy issues related to gender.
