POL 3590 Political Communication

This course explores different approaches and debates relating to the study of political communication from an international relations and comparative perspective. In doing so, we will consider how discourse, power, and knowledge shape popular representations of today’s most pressing and complex issues. The assigned readings will cover a broad range of scholarship concerning the impacts of discourse and media on foreign policy, conflict, security, environmental change, democracy, social movements, and beyond.
