POL 3260 CONGRESS
This course provides an in-depth examination of the United States Congress. Students will learn about congressional elections, who runs, and who wins. The course then turns to an examination of the legislative process with specific attention given to the unorthodox procedures members of Congress have at their disposal to advance their agendas. The relationship between Congress and other institutions such as the presidency, courts, and media is also considered. Students participate in a simulation component in which they attempt to pass legislation while acting as current U.S. Senators.
